What you can usually claim

Common questions

Often, yes. If you travel directly between workplaces during a shift, or your home is a genuine base of employment, that travel can be claimable. The rules are fiddly, so it's worth a quick chat to get it right and keep the records the ATO expects.

If the course maintains or improves skills for your current role, generally yes. If it's designed to get you a new job or a different role entirely, generally no. The distinction matters, we can sort which side of the line your course falls on.
