Pricing and fees
Individual tax returns start at $390. Ongoing business work, which is where most of my clients sit, starts at $250 a month for a GST-registered sole trader and $350 a month for a company or trust. Those are starting points, not your quote: the exact fee depends on what your business actually needs, and you get it as one fixed number, in writing, before anything starts. It does not move for 12 months, and it covers the BAS, the returns, the lodgements and the questions in between. The full detail is on the pricing page.
Everything your business has to lodge, plus the ability to pick up the phone without a clock starting. We agree the exact scope at the strategy session and it goes in writing. Bookkeeping and payroll are quoted separately, because transaction volume and staff numbers vary too much to fix a price around them before I have seen your books.
About my services
Most accountants look backwards. They tell you in October what happened in June, when nothing can be changed any more. I work the other way round: we talk before 30 June while the number can still move, and you hear from me through the year rather than once at tax time.
I offer tax returns (individual, company, and trust), BAS lodgement, bookkeeping, Xero management, quarterly business advisory sessions, and proactive tax planning. Everything a small business owner needs to stay on top of their finances.
No. I also handle individual tax returns, rental property tax matters, and investment portfolio tax reporting. Whether you're a sole trader, a company, or an individual, I can help.
Yes. I can advise on the right business structure, handle ABN and TFN registration, set up your Xero accounting software, and guide you through your first BAS and tax obligations.
I primarily use Xero. If you're currently using a different platform, I can help you migrate to Xero so everything runs smoothly.
The fee is deductible, so the real cost is lower than the number on the invoice. Beyond that it buys back the hours you lose to admin, and it catches the deductions and timing decisions that only surface when someone is actually looking at your numbers. If I cannot make that case for your business in the first 30 minutes, I will say so.
Working with me
Most people who move to me were not unhappy, they had just worked out they were only getting compliance. If you only hear from your accountant when something is due, you are paying for the lodgement and getting none of the advice. Switching is four steps, I do three of them, and the one that is yours takes about ten minutes.
It takes about ten minutes of your time. You give me the go-ahead, I write to your current accountant for your file and your ATO history, and I handle the handover from there. There is no awkward conversation for you to have, and nothing has to wait for the end of a financial year.
No. The office is in Brighton East, but most of my clients work with me remotely via video call and Xero. I work with small business owners across all of Melbourne and beyond.
Video call, phone or email, whichever suits you. You can call or email any time without a clock starting, and I read every message myself.
It's a 30-minute conversation about your situation, your goals, and what's not working with your current setup. No obligation, no pressure. Just a clear picture of where you stand and how I can help.
Growth is where structure starts to matter. Two things break first: cash flow, because you fund the growth before you get paid for it, and the structure you set up when the business was smaller. I look at both, so the business can get bigger without getting more fragile.
Tax and compliance
31 October for self-lodgers. If you're with a registered tax agent, you may have an extended deadline, often into May the following year. Two conditions matter: you need to be on my client list before 31 October, and your earlier returns need to be up to date. If a prior year is outstanding, the extension is generally lost and everything reverts to 31 October, so it pays to talk to me early rather than in late October.
Your TFN, prior year tax return, any income statements (such as payment summaries or bank statements), and access to your accounting software. I'll send you a detailed checklist before your appointment.
Absolutely. I regularly help clients catch up on multiple years of overdue tax returns. No judgement. I'll get you back on track as quickly and painlessly as possible.
A bookkeeper records day-to-day transactions like receipts, invoices, and bank reconciliations. An accountant interprets the numbers, prepares tax returns, provides strategic advice, and can represent you with the ATO. At Summit, I do both.
Business advisory
A focused session where we review your financials, track progress against your goals, discuss strategy, and plan ahead. Think of it like having a CFO for an hour. Someone who knows your numbers inside out and can help you make smarter decisions.
Absolutely. That's my specialty. I explain everything simply so you can make informed decisions about your business with confidence.
Very likely. Many business owners miss legitimate deductions or are operating under the wrong business structure. Book a free strategy session (opens in new window) and I'll take a look at your situation to identify any opportunities.
