Who this one is for
This guide is for the business that looks fine on paper and still cannot pay everything at the end of the month. Profitable, growing, busy, and somehow always waiting on money.
That gap catches people out because profit and cash run on two different clocks. Profit is counted when you raise the invoice. Cash arrives whenever the customer decides to pay it. A business can be more profitable this month than last and have less money in the account, and both of those things can be true at once.
Nobody teaches you that, and the accounting profession has not helped by talking about it in language that only makes sense if you already understand it. So this guide does not talk about working capital cycles. It walks through where the money actually goes, how to get paid faster without being the person who chases, a rhythm that means the BAS is never a shock, and how to see a squeeze coming while you can still do something about it.
The bit almost nobody does
The last section is a 13-week cash forecast. Thirteen weeks, because it is far enough out to see a problem coming and close enough that you can still be honest about the numbers. Most owners have never built one, and the ones who do build one stop being surprised. It is about ten minutes of work a week once it exists.
